Cookies

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We currently embed content from openstreetmap.org.

Your personal data

For users that are provided with an account on our website, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Visitors who apply to the Summer School will do so via an external secure site, and will be bound by the Privacy Policy and any other Terms and Conditions that applies to that site.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. Additional information

How we protect your data

Our main approach to protecting your data is not to ask you for any in the first place. The only sensitive data that is collected from users who have an account on this website is their email address. This is used only for the purpose of account management (lost passwords etc) and we do not publish these on the public website. We advise using either a disposable email address, or one which is already widely known (e.g., published on your own webpage), to minimise risks arising from unanticipated data breaches.

What data breach procedures we have in place

In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users and the relevant bodies as soon as we become aware of it.
